Frequently Asked Questions

What is paint protected film(PPF) and how is it applied?

What is the main purpose?

Paint Protection Film is a thermoplastic urethane film (TPU).

It is optically clear and has a pressure sensitive adhesive backing.

It has UV inhibitors which prevent the sun from turning the film yellow.

Professionals clean the surface, cut the film to fit and use attach it to the car, requiring precision and skill.

It is also called clear bra and clear mask.

The purpose for installing a clear bra on your vehicle is to prevent damage to paint.

This damage could be flying road debris which chips your paint or insects that cause dulling of paint from acids or scrubbing to remove them.

It is intended to help maintain your cars value and therefore should be considered an investment.

How long does PPF last, and is it durable?

The longevity of PPF varies depending on factors such as the brand and quality of the film.

On average, high-quality PPF can last anywhere from 5 to 10 years depending on exposure and maintenance.

Our PPF is of the highest quality and we guarantee it for 10 years.

PPF is designed to withstand the challenges of daily driving, exposure to sunlight, extreme temperatures, and harsh weather conditions. Routine cleaning and occasional waxing can further extend its lifespan, ensuring long-term protection for your vehicle.

Why PPF is so expensive

Proper preparation is essential of PPF, involving the removal of dust and debris to ensure the film adheres correctly.

Each piece of PPF is custom-cut to match the vehicle's panels, a process that can be labor-intensive.

Additionally, installation requires the expertise of certified installers.

The high cost of paint protection film is due to both the film's quality and the quality of its installation.

Do you use pre-cut kits?

All new vehicles have pre-cut kits available and are used primarily because the machine cut corners give it a clean OEM look.

Occasionally due to after-market body kits or older vintage vehicles we have to use bulk films and custom fit the clear bra.

How does PPF compare to ceramic coating?

PPF provides physical protection against impacts, while ceramic coatings offer a durable, hydrophobic layer that makes cleaning easier and enhances shine.

Both can be used together for comprehensive protection.

Can PPF be removed and can it be repaired if damaged?

Yes, PPF can be removed without damaging the underlying paint, and it's recommended to have it removed by a professional.

Minor damages can often be repaired by heating the film to activate its self healing properties, but severe damage may require replacing the affected section.

How do I maintain PPF and does it require special cleaning products?

Can PPF be applied over existing damage and does it affect resale value?

it's best to apply PPF to a clean, undamaged surface, so existing damage should be repaired before installation.

PPF can help maintain the vehicle's appearance, potentially enhancing resale value by protecting the paint from damage.

Maintenance involves regular washing and waxing.

Avoid harsh chemicals, hight pressure washing, and abrasive materials.

PPF can be cleaned with standard car wash products.
